The Poema del Mar aquarium is located in Las Palmas - the capital of Gran Canaria, just 200 meters from the famous Las Canteras beach. Modern and innovative space covers an area of up to 12,500 square meters, among which there is almost 8,000,000 liters of water. The aquarium is divided into three themed zones, showing surface water, deep water and fresh water species from around the world. In total there are over 350 species of fish and animals.
The visit starts with a look into the Jungle, showing landscapes from different parts of the world, then you can admire the Reef, i.e. a cylinder filled with 400,000 liters of water inhabited by fish and corals, then tunnels leading through the aquarium reach the Deep Sea, and thus the largest rounded window in the world, which provides excellent conditions for observation.
