The geographical location combined with the transparency and excellent astronomical quality of the sky meant that the Teide observatory, focusing the best European solar telescopes, is mainly dedicated to the study of the Sun.

As part of the dissemination activities carried out by the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics, visits to the Observatory are organized. An empty dome was adapted, equipped with the equipment needed to popularize science. With a capacity of about forty people, it is used to explain what the observatory consists of, how telescopes work, how important astronomy is, and how astrophysics facilitates our daily lives.
